Johannesburg-based pharmaceutical company Viatris is offering free erectile dysfunction tablets to those who wish to buy them in the city's major pharmacy.
The online drugstore will supply 100 mg tablets of Viagra, its first competitor, for $2.99 per dose.
But Viatris has also been asked to supply an extra 100 mg tablet in addition to the erectile dysfunction pills.
The company is now supplying tablets of the drug for less than $2 for a supply of the drugs, said its CEO, Dr. Peter J. Rifkin.
He said that a generic version of Viagra was also available in a price range from $2.25 to $3.89 for a supply of 50 tablets.
